Since 1952, the American College of Surgeons has provided ACS Members with a program of personal insurance products designed for the special needs of surgeons and their families. 10-YEAR, 15-YEAR, or 20 YEAR LEVEL TERM LIFE

Help protect your family’s financial future you’ve worked hard for with initial rates guaranteed not to increase for up to 20 years and coverage amounts up to $4,000,000 that remains level until termination at age 85 (depending on which coverage you choose).

 

TRADITIONAL TERM LIFE

 

Help secure your family’s financial future with our Traditional Term Life Insurance, which currently offers coverage amounts up to $4,000,000 and can be renewed until age 100. 

 

LONG-TERM DISABILITY

In the event you lose your ability to practice due to a disabling sickness or injury, our Group Long-Term Disability offers monthly benefits of up to $20,000 and four optional benefits to choose from: The Future Purchase Option (FPO), Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) riders, Catastrophic Disability and Own Occupation.

SHORT-TERM DISABILITY

Most disabilities last less than six months. But even a short-term disability can cause a severe financial hardship.  We offer several options for ACS members to coordinate with their Long-Term Disability Income Benefits that can help you maintain your current lifestyle and help protect you and your family from serious debt.

OFFICE OVERHEAD EXPENSE DISABILITY

In addition to your personal expenses, help protect your eligible business expenses in the event you become disabled due to a covered illness or injury, with monthly benefits of up to $20,000.

 

HOSPITAL INDEMNITY

Supplement your Health Insurance with the ACS Hospital Indemnity insurance.  This coverage pays cash benefits (up to $500 per day) directly to you from the first day of a covered stay.

 

ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT

This coverage can help you and your family cope with crippling or fatal accidents and the often devastating costs by providing up to $500,000 in benefits.

SUPPLEMENTAL DISABILITY INCOME (for educational expense obligations)

This coverage offers a choice of two plans that can provide monthly benefits to help cover your educational debt if you become disabled from a covered accident or illness, so your career goals can stay on track. 

    1. Valuable Package Discount

      You can receive a 35% Package Discount in addition to our already competitive rates. To qualify for this discount, you must be insured in at least one coverage from each of the three coverage categories:

      1. Group Term Life: Level Term Life: Level Term life (10-,15- or 20-Year Term) and/or Traditional Term Life
      2. Group Disability Income Insurance: Long-Term Disability, Short-Term Disability, and/or Office Overhead Expense Disability
      3. Supplemental Group Coverages: Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance, Supplemental Disability Insurance (for educational expense obligations), and/or Hospital Indemnity Insurance

      Once you qualify for the 35% discount, it applies to all ACS coverages underwritten by New York Life from each of the three product categories.
